Move Over Bulldozer!!

My sweet boy turned 1 in July and we have lovingly nicknamed him the Bulldozer. He loves to push anything in his way and is so funny. If you're in the way - Watch out!!

This cake is gluten free and dairy free as I have taken on that life style, by no choice of my own. My stomach doesn't agree with most foods lately. If you're looking for gluten free recipes, my best friend on the whole world has celiac and creates her own recipes - her blog is www.myglutenfreegoodies.blogspot.com
My Sweet Mason after enjoying his cake!!!

Go Lobos!! UNM

The best babysitter in the whole world graduated from High School and got a great scholarship to the University of New Mexico. I made this cake for her graduation party. The white and red decorations are made from Wilton Sugar Sheets. The rest is fondant with a thick Vanilla cake recipe! So Yummy!!!

My Budding Cake Decorator

My sweet little girl loves it when I come home from teaching another cake decorating class. She gets the leftovers and gets to eat or make her own cake. She has made my birthday cakes for the past couple of years and she is so wonderful!!!

Basic Daisy Cake

This was the first fondant covered cake I ever made in my cake class back in 2011. Not too shabby for a first time cake.

Thank you - Basketweave

I created this Thank you cake for the employees at Michaels who I've worked with and who got me addicted to cakes. I worked at the Springfield Michaels store for 6 months before moving to the other side of the country.  They were wonderful to work with and now I am working with another wonderful group of people at the Michaels here in Salem.

New Kid on the Block - Baby Shower

My awesome friend was having a baby boy and after finding this cake, we decided to modify and go for it. This created the theme for the baby shower which fit the Mom-to-be to a tee!! She went to the New Kids on the Block Concert when she was 8 and then again to the reunion tour just a few years ago. It was awesome.

Queen of the Castle

The Queen of the Castle was made for my little Princess Alyssa. Her third birthday party was a princess party so this cake was made. Each layer of the cake is three layers of cake thick. Each layer is vanilla cake.
Just a hint - if you're going to go face first into the cake, you must remember there are dowels in the cake to hold each layer up. We forgot that when my husband decided to go face first into the bottom layer and almost took out an eye.

The Beehive Cake

This cake was done for my Young Women's In Excellence Activity with the Young Women of the Springfield 2nd Ward. The cake is 8 layers tall with each layer being the color of the Values in order from top to bottom.
